Nab exists because screenshot tools got heavy. It is one 4.7 MB exe that registers its hotkeys with Windows and then sleeps: zero CPU while it waits and about 2 MB of memory. Press Ctrl+Shift+Q and the window you're in is copied to the clipboard and saved to a folder, edge to edge with no strip of desktop, named after the app and the time. Ctrl+Shift+A freezes the screen so you can drag out an area or click a window, with a loupe for the exact pixel. On Windows 11 it makes the bits outside a window's rounded corners transparent instead of keeping the wallpaper behind them. Each hotkey can have its own folder and file-name pattern, a small preview card offers Open and Show in folder, and a command line lets Stream Deck buttons take nabs. Written in Rust on plain Win32; free and open source as donationware.
