Shook

Desktop Tools & Donationware · 2026

Shook exists because finding a lost pointer shouldn't cost anything. It is one 4.5 MB exe that sleeps until the mouse moves: zero CPU while it waits, about 2 MB of memory, and about 3% of one core on a 2013 laptop even with the mouse streaming a thousand reports a second. Give the mouse a quick shake and the pointer lands where you can see it (the middle of a screen, the window you're in, or a spot you pick) with a ripple or a spotlight so your eyes find it too. It learns your shake with a live meter and a Calibrate button, ignores shakes while you drag, game or watch full-screen video, and can find the pointer from a hotkey too. Written in Rust on plain Win32; free and open source as donationware.
